What skill are you currently working to improve?
Name one specific skill, why it matters for your career, what you are doing about it each week and what progress you have made so far. Concrete steps make it believable.
Explain it simply
This question checks whether you keep learning after the exam is over. A vague answer like "communication" sounds rehearsed. A specific one sounds real: "SQL joins and window functions, practising 3 problems a day."
Pick a skill linked to the role, show a routine, and mention measurable progress. It can be technical or soft, as long as it is true.
Example
Situation: Pooja is applying for a data analyst trainee role.
Task: Show active, measurable learning.
Action: She says: "I am improving my SQL. My college course covered only basic queries, so for the last two months I have solved two or three problems daily on a practice site, focusing on joins, GROUP BY and window functions. I have done about 120 so far, and last week I used a window function to rank our hostel cricket league scores for fun."
Result: The interviewer gives her a quick SQL question and she handles it well, which backs up the claim.
What to say in the interview
"I am currently working on X because this role needs it. I practise by doing Y every day, and so far I have managed Z."
Common mistakes
- Naming a skill but no routine or progress.
- Saying something like "everything".
- Choosing a skill you cannot be tested on without failing.
