FAQs
Will this always get my PDF under 200 KB?
Not always. Many pages or detailed colour scans may not fit. Auto tries gentle settings first and stops at the best quality that fits. If nothing fits, we show the smallest result and tell you it's over the limit.
What do Light, Balanced, Strong and Extreme mean?
Light keeps text, links and forms and only removes extra data, so savings are small. Balanced (150 DPI), Strong (110 DPI) and Extreme (80 DPI) turn each page into a compressed image. Each step is smaller and a little less sharp.
Why does text stop being selectable?
To shrink a scan, pages become images. You can still read them, but you can't select or search the text, and links or form fields stop working. Choose Light if you need the text.
Can I compress several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 10 PDFs (25 MB and 40 pages each). They use the same settings and download together as a ZIP.
What does black & white do?
It removes colour, which makes scanned documents much smaller. Use it only if your form accepts black and white documents.
Does my PDF leave my device?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The finished file is kept in this browser only for the download step.
My PDF is password-protected.
Remove the password in an app you're allowed to use, then try again. This tool never bypasses passwords.
Is 200 KB the official limit for my exam?
Check your form's current notice. Limits differ between exams and change over time.
