Which barcode should I use?

Use Code 39 for internal inventory and labels that support letters and numbers. Use EAN-13 or UPC-A when you already have a legitimate retail product identifier. This tool calculates check digits but does not issue or register retail identifiers with GS1.

For reliable scanning

Choose high contrast (typically black bars on white), preserve empty margins, and keep the AI Tapri mark outside the encoded bars. Test the printed label with your scanner before using it commercially.
