  1. A company's sales (in ₹ crore) were 120 in 2021, 150 in 2022, 180 in 2023, 165 in 2024 and 210 in 2025. In which year was the percentage growth over the previous year highest, and what was the average sales figure?

    2025, with 27.27% growth (45 on 165). Growth was 25% in 2022, 20% in 2023 and -8.33% in 2024. The average sales over the five years is 825 / 5 = ₹165 crore.

  2. A family's monthly budget of ₹60,000 is shown in a pie chart: rent 30%, food 25%, transport 10%, savings 20%, others 15%. What is the central angle for food, and how much more is spent on rent than saved?

    Food's angle is 25% of 360 = 90 degrees. Rent is ₹18,000 and savings ₹12,000, so rent exceeds savings by ₹6,000. In general, angle = percent x 3.6, and amount = percent x total / 100.

  3. How do you quickly approximate a value like '3,487 is what percent of 15,012?' in a timed data interpretation section?

Round both numbers to friendly values close to the originals: 3,500 / 15,000 = 7/30, about 23.3%. The exact value is 23.23%, so the estimate is enough to pick the right option when choices are reasonably far apart.

  4. Plant A produced 450, 520 and 600 units over three years, and Plant B produced 300, 390 and 480 units. What is B's total output as a percentage of A's, and in which year was B's output closest to A's?

B's total (1,170) is about 74.52% of A's total (1,570). Year by year, B/A is 66.7%, 75% and 80%, so B came closest to A in the third year, even though the gap in units (120) was smallest in the first and third years.
