Punjab and Haryana High Court Chowkidar Vacancy Details 2026
- The number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the vacancies on the date the merit list is prepared. The High Court will decide how many candidates are recommended.
Age Limit
- Applicants of all categories should be not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years as on 21 November 2026. For Ex-Servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by the number of years of their defence service plus 03 years.
- Only two documents are accepted as proof of date of birth: the Matriculation Certificate from a recognized Education Board, for candidates who are matriculate or above, or the Birth Certificate from the Registrar of Births and Deaths, for those qualified below Matric.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum Middle Standard and maximum 10+2 from a recognized School Education Board or recognized School. All eligibility conditions must be met on the last date of online submission. Candidates must also give an affidavit that they are not qualified above 10+2. Concealing a higher qualification can lead to criminal action and termination from service.
Application Fee
- The fee is paid online and is non-refundable, and online transaction charges are extra. Dependents claiming the exemption must upload proof with the application and produce the original at testimonials checking or when called by the High Court.
Selection Process
- Candidates are selected on their performance in the interview.
- Depending on the number of applications, any suitable shortlisting criterion can be followed, and candidates will be told about it at the appropriate time.
- Meeting the eligibility criteria does not by itself entitle an applicant to an interview call.
- The date, time and venue of the interview will be published on the High Court website.

- A candidate may submit only one application for a particular category. If more than one is submitted, only the latest will be considered.

- Keep the application printout with proof of qualification, date of birth, caste certificate and any NOC. The annexures are in the notice, and Annexures III, IV and V must be attested by a Notary Public.
- Regular government employees must obtain the NOC when applying and keep it with them. Failure to produce the original when required cancels the candidature. Contract or ad hoc workers in government offices apply as non-departmental candidates.
