Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Young Professional-I (YP-I):B.F.Sc./B.Sc. degree in Zoology/Life Science/Oceanography/Statistics with minimum 60% marks or equivalent OGP.Desirable: Experience in deep-sea fish taxonomy, data analytics, fish biology, oceanographic analysis, sea-going research, familiarity with on-board activities, ability to work in field/marine environments.
• Field Assistant:10th Pass.Desirable: On-board experience, seaworthiness, knowledge about fishing practices, local knowledge about fishery resources, proficiency in Gujarati language.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Candidates must report at the venue by 10:00 AM on 23 November 2026. Latecomers may not be permitted.
• Selection is based on Direct Walk-In Interview.
• Document verification will be conducted during the interview process.
• The decision of the competent authority of ICAR-CMFRI regarding the selection process is final and binding.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the walk-in interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Duly filled application form in the prescribed format (Pages 3 & 4 of notification).
• Recent self-attested passport-size colour photograph.
• Original certificates and documents for verification.
• One set of self-attested photocopies of all relevant documents (educational qualifications, age proof, experience certificates, category certificate if applicable).
• Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
• Selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment in ICAR-CMFRI or ICAR.

What is the salary structure?

• Young Professional-I will receive Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated) and Field Assistant will receive Rs. 15,000 per month (consolidated) as per the approved norms applicable to the respective positions under the project.
