Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer – Qualification & Experience

• Officer must belong to the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) cadre
• Must have completed a minimum of 5 years of Railway service
• Must be presently working at Joint Secretary / Senior Secretary (JAG/SS) grade, i.e., 7th CPC Pay Level 11 or 12
• Required Experience Domains:
• Design, planning, construction, and execution of Railway Electrification (RE) projects
• Operation & Maintenance of power supply installations, OHE (Overhead Equipment), and RC equipment
• Maintenance and operation of electric locomotives and Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) stocks outside electric loco shed
• Train operations, crew management, and maintenance/operation of electric locomotives based in shed
• Electrical General Services in Indian Railways / PSUs / Metro
• Candidate must possess knowledge of Railway Board and RDSO specifications and other relevant codes
• Age Limit: Below 50 years as on the notification date (07/10/2026)

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• The selection for the post of Dy. Chief Electrical Engineer on deputation will be carried out as per the selection criteria prescribed in Ministry of Railways, Railway Board letter No. 2017/E(O)II/41/5 dated 25.05.2017 and No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 07.03.2018.
• Eligibility Screening: KRCL will shortlist eligible and suitable officers based on prescribed qualifications, experience, and the mandatory criteria stated in the Vacancy Notice.
• Eligible Suitable Applicants: Applications will be considered only if they are forwarded through the proper channel with approval of the Competent Authority in the Ministry.
• Railway Board Endorsement: KRCL will consider applications only from officers whose applications are forwarded by the Railway Board.
• Direct Interview / Committee-based Selection: Shortlisted candidates may be called for interview or assessed by a selection committee as prescribed.
• Retain Railway Accommodation: Deputee officers may retain their Railway accommodation as per Board guidelines during the deputation tenure at KRCL.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending selection processes.

Term of Deputation & Important Instructions

• The term of deputation is 03 years (normal term), extendable up to a maximum of 05 years as per existing guidelines.
• Konkan Railway Corporation Limited has been granted exemption from the rule of immediate absorption up to 31/12/2026 by the competent authority.
• Applications of officers working in Zonal Railways/PSUs for deputation to Railway PSUs/Autonomous Bodies and other Organizations will be forwarded with approval of the Competent Authority in the Ministry of Railways.
• Applications must reach the designated authority well in advance – at least 07 days prior to the last date – as required by Railway Board letter No. 2018/E(O)II/41/1 dated 08/02/2023.

3. Is there an application fee for KRCL Dy. Chief Electrical Engineer?

5. What is the salary/pay for KRCL Dy. Chief Electrical Engineer?

• The officer will be placed at Pay Level 12 or Pay Level 11 as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (monthly basic: ₹78,800 or ₹67,700 respectively), on a JAG/SS grade basis. Selected officers will draw pay and allowances as per DOPT instructions admissible on the parent Railways from time to time, plus deputation (duty) allowance as applicable.

6. What are the eligibility qualifications for this KRCL recruitment?

• Only serving IRSEE officers are eligible.
