Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• The same essential qualification and experience apply to all five Director posts; the area of R&D experience differs.
• Essential Qualification (Direct Recruitment):MD/MS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC; ORMBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC with MPH from a recognized University; ORMaster's Degree in a subject related to Biomedical Sciences or MBBS or equivalent degree (recognized by MCI/NMC), with Ph.D. from a recognized University in a subject related to Biomedical Sciences.
• Essential Experience (Direct Recruitment):15 years total experience.Including 05 Years in a managerial position handling R&D projects independently (PI/Co-PI, Head of Research Groups/Centres/Institutes/Laboratories).And 02 Years regular service in Pay Matrix Level-13A OR 07 Years regular service in Pay Matrix Level-13 (or equivalent).Experience must be in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions, in the specific area for each post.
• Experience Calculation:Ph.D. = 4 years experience.MD/MS or equivalent = 3 years experience.MVSc = 2 years experience.MPH/M.Tech/ME = Not counted as experience.Period spent on obtaining minimum essential qualification is not counted towards experience.
• Eligibility for Deputation/Absorption:Scientists from Central/State Govt., recognised autonomous organisations, Research Institutes or Universities holding analogous post on regular basis OR possessing the same essential qualifications and experience.ICMR Scientists are not eligible for deputation and must apply under Direct Recruitment.
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 58 years as on the last date of application. Relaxations apply as per Government of India instructions and for exceptionally meritorious candidates with approval of President, Governing Council, ICMR.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Initial Shortlisting: Candidates fulfilling minimum eligibility in age, essential qualifications and experience are shortlisted.
• Further Shortlisting: If the number of shortlisted candidates is high and it is not possible to call all for interview, ICMR shall further shortlist based on suitable criteria fixed by the Competent Authority (generally higher experience in relevant fields or higher educational qualification).
• Interview / Personal Discussion: Shortlisted candidates are called for interview. Government and PSU employees must bring NOC with an undertaking that they will be relieved within one month of receipt of appointment order.
• Applications received after the closing date will be rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Experience Certificates issued by Head of Office / Head of Organization / Head HR clearly indicating period and dates of service
• Relevant documents of educational qualification, specialization, and experience as claimed must be uploaded
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer for Central/State Govt., PSU & Govt. funded research agency employees (to be submitted at personal discussion)
• Two recent passport-size photographs & valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)

What is the application fee for ICMR Director Posts?

• The application fee is Rs. 1500/- (non-refundable). Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/PwD/EWS categories are exempted from payment.

• The posts carry Level-14 of the Pay Matrix, i.e., Rs. 1,44,200 - Rs. 2,18,200 per month (7th CPC), with usual allowances as admissible to ICMR employees.
