- Candidates applying for the Medical Officer recruitment must pay an application processing fee of ₹200.

- Candidates currently pursuing a postgraduate medical degree must ensure that their final PG result is declared by 18 November 2026, which is the last date for submitting the online application.
- If the final result is not declared by the specified date, their candidature will not be considered.
Officer Salary 2026 AFMS Medical Officer SSC 2026
- Doctors selected through AFMS Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 will receive the rank of Captain or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy or Air Force.

- In addition to the salary, eligible officers will receive facilities such as:

- 1. Shortlisting Based on NEET PG Marks
- Applications will first be scrutinised to ensure that candidates meet the prescribed eligibility requirements.
- Eligible applicants will be shortlisted based on their NEET PG marks or percentile.
- For the purpose of shortlisting, the NEET PG percentile will be converted into calculated marks out of 200 by multiplying the percentile score by two and rounding the result to two decimal places.
- Separate lists will be prepared for male and female candidates.
- 2. Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi Cantt, starting from 02 December 2026 onwards.
- The interview will assess the suitability and merit of candidates for the Short Service Commission.
- Candidates appearing for the interview for the first time will be eligible for the prescribed travelling allowance, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
- 3. Physical and Medical Examination
- Candidates who qualify in the interview must undergo a Special Medical Examination Board (SMB) examination.
- Medical fitness will be assessed according to the prescribed Armed Forces medical standards.
- Candidates declared medically unfit may apply for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB). Further review through a Review Medical Board (RMB) will be subject to the conditions and discretion specified in the notification.
- 4. Final Merit List
- Candidates must secure at least 50% marks in the interview to qualify for consideration in the final merit list.
- The interview carries a maximum of 50 marks:
- NCC certificate weightage will be awarded according to the highest certificate held by the candidate.
- The final merit list will be prepared by combining calculated NEET PG marks and interview marks. Separate merit lists will be prepared for male and female candidates.
- Final joining instructions will be issued to medically fit candidates according to the available vacancies.
- Tenure of Service and Promotion Opportunities
- Fresh candidates selected through the civil entry scheme will initially receive a five-year Short Service Commission.
- The tenure may be extended by another nine years in two spells:
- First extension: Five years.
- Second extension: Four years.
- Extensions will depend on service requirements, vacancy availability and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.
- Officers will initially be commissioned as Captains or equivalent ranks.
- The notification also provides the following promotion opportunities, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:
- Eligible SSC officers may also get opportunities to apply for Departmental Permanent Commission under the prescribed rules.
