- What is semantic versioning and why does it matter for npm packages?
Semantic versioning uses MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. Increase PATCH for bug fixes, MINOR for backward-compatible features, MAJOR for breaking changes, so users can judge upgrade risk from the number alone.
