Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Research Associate: Ph.D. in Physics / Experimental Condensed Matter Physics / Material Science / Nanotechnology. At least three publications in Web of Science or Scopus-indexed journals. Candidate must hold a first class in Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognized university.
• Research Assistant: At least second class Master's degree in any branch of Chemistry / Material Science / Environmental Science / Physics / Life Science. Minimum 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. Age must be less than 30 years.

How to Apply for FMU Research Associate & Research Assistant Posts

• Eligible candidates must apply in offline mode by completing the following steps:
• Download the prescribed application form from Annexure I (for Research Associate) or Annexure II (for Research Assistant) as provided in the official notification.
• Fill out the form with complete personal, educational, and research details.
• Attach all required documents, including the filled application form, statement of research interests / statement of purpose (approximately 1000 words, for Research Associate only), optional recommendation letters from referees, and hard copies of preprints/reprints of three best research publications (for Research Associate).
• Send the completed application package by Indian Post to: Registrar, Fakir Mohan University, Vyasa Vihar, Nuapadhi, Balasore-756089, Odisha.
• Send a scanned copy of the same application by email to [email protected].
• The application must reach (both by post and email) on or before 28 October 2026, 5:00 PM.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated through email for interview. No separate hard copy of the interview call letter will be dispatched.
• Research Associate — Selection: Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a presentation of maximum 10 slides — 50% on their past research work and 50% on the work to be undertaken at FMU — followed by personal appearance before the selection committee.
• Research Assistant — Selection: Interview by the selection committee for shortlisted candidates.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Duly filled application form per the prescribed annexure format in the official notification.
• Statement of Research Interests / Statement of Purpose (~1000 words) — Research Associate only.
• Hard copies of preprints/reprints of three best research publications — Research Associate only.
• Recommendation letters from referees (optional) — Research Associate.
• All relevant degree certificates and consolidated mark sheets (Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D.).
• Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate or Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.
• Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable).
• Two recent passport-size photographs and Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN).
• Candidates must ensure the application reaches the university by both post and email before the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
