- Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has published Advt. No. 25-Exam/2026 on 12/10/2026 for the Combined Junior Engineer (Electrical) Main Examination (PET-2025)/25 – a total of 380 posts of JE (Electrical) and posts with the same qualification in PWD, Directorate of Electrical Safety, UP Rajkiya Nirman Nigam, UPSRTC, state universities and others. Only UPSSSC PET-2025 score-card holders can apply. Category-wise Vacancies
- PWD JE (Electrical) 231 split: UR 120, SC 38, ST 4, OBC 46, EWS 23. Department-wise reservation for every entry is in Table-1 of the advertisement.
Eligibility
- UPSSSC PET-2025: Must have appeared in PET-2025 and hold its score card. Mains shortlisting is on the normalised PET-2025 score.
- JE / Technical Assistant (Electrical): 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, UP, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Government.
- Electrician, Research Assistant and corporation posts: post-wise diploma qualification as listed in para 6 of the advertisement.
Age Limit
- 18–40 years for the JE (Electrical) posts (21–40 years for Research Assistant), reckoned on 1 July as per each post's service rules. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other notified categories as per UP Government rules.

Salary
- Level-6: ₹35,400–1,12,400 for posts on the revised pay matrix; PWD JE (Electrical): ₹9,300–34,800 + Grade Pay ₹4,200; some corporation/university posts on ₹9,300–34,800 or ₹5,200–20,200 bands (post-wise in Table-1).

- City classes (HRA): X = Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Greater Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune. Y and Z cities are as listed by the Department of Expenditure (OM 21.07.2015). HRA is not paid if you live in government quarters.
- State post: DA uses the 60% rate set for this page; check the state's latest DA order. HRA is shown at X/Y/Z percentages as an estimate, and state HRA rules can differ. State transport/conveyance allowance is not included.
- Pension: NPS is shown at 10%. A few states have moved back to the old pension scheme; if so, there is no NPS deduction.

Exam Pattern
- Main written exam: 100 objective questions, 100 marks, 2 hours (120 minutes). 25% negative marking per wrong answer. Part-1 covers electrical engineering (basic electrical, magnetic circuits, AC fundamentals & machines, measurements, DC machines & transformers, alternators and more) as per para 9 of the advertisement.
