Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Project Research Scientist I (Medical): MBBS, BDS / BAMS with MPH degree. Candidates with experience in Geriatric Medicine, Medicine, or Community Medicine-based health research projects, or candidates holding an MPH degree, will be preferred.
  • Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical): Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees, with three years post-qualification experience. Alternatively, a PhD degree qualifies. Candidates with one year of experience in Geriatric Medicine / community-based health research projects, or candidates holding an MPH degree, will be preferred.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • The selection process for both Project Research Scientist posts consists of the following stages:
  • Shortlisting: Based on the submitted application, curriculum vitae (CV), and documentary proof of qualifications and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be allowed to proceed.
  • Written Test: Scheduled on 22 October 2026 at JIPMER, Puducherry. The written test will assess subject knowledge relevant to the project (SMART project in geriatric/health research).
  • In-Person Interview: Scheduled on 22 October 2026. Candidates who qualify the written test will be called for a personal interview at the project venue.
  • No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the written test or interview. The roles are contract-based under the ICMR SMART project and are co-terminus with the project duration; this is not a permanent government cadre posting.

  • Candidates must attach self-attested copies of the following documents along with their email application:
  • Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
  • MBBS / BDS / BAMS / Post Graduate Degree Certificate and All Consolidated Mark Sheets
  • Experience Certificates on Official Letterhead (if applicable – Geriatric Medicine, Community Medicine, or Health Research projects)
  • Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable)
  • Recent Passport-size Photograph & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
  • Complete bio-data including personal details, educational qualifications, and research experience
