How to Apply for JU Registrar

• Download the blank application form in pdf format from the JU website, www.jadavpuruniversity.in.
• Pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- (US $ 50.00 or its rupee equivalent for an Indian citizen staying outside) as indicated on the JU website. Options are net banking, debit / credit / Rupay card, or challan for cash payment at SBI branches. Use any one option for payment from within India.
• Take a printout of the payment receipt or challan.
• Submit seven hard copies of the complete application form (one original and seven photocopies) along with all enclosures, including attested or self-attested photocopies of all certificates and testimonials (in a single copy).
• Send the application under Certificate of Posting, preferably by Registered Post, to the Vice-Chancellor, Jadavpur University, Aurobindo Bhavan, 188, Raja S.C. Mallick Road, Jadavpur, Kolkata – 700 032. It can also be handed in at the Information Office on all working days between 11.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
• Write the name of the post applied for and the Advertisement Number on the envelope.
• The deadline for submitting the application is 25 November 2026, and the payment link closes at 04.00 p.m. The University is not liable for postal delay or email glitches. Incomplete applications are rejected without any intimation.

Selection Process

• The notice describes screening followed by an interview before the Selection Committee.
• If many applications are received and it is not convenient to interview everyone, the Screening Committee may restrict the number of candidates called for interview. It may use qualifications, experience and other credentials or any other suitable method.
• Only shortlisted candidates are communicated for interview, at the postal address and email address registered during application.
• Shortlisted candidates must be present physically before the Selection Committee on the day of the interview, with no exception.
• Photocopies of all testimonials and certificates must be submitted at the interview (if called), and originals are required for verification.
• Selection need not be confined only to those who formally apply.

Important Instructions

• Canvassing in any form disqualifies a candidate.
• Those who applied against Advt. No. A2/C/3/2025 dt.12.11.2025 need not apply again. They may send updated information, if any, to the Vice-Chancellor by e-mail ([email protected]) or hard copy within the stipulated timeline.
• Apply separately for each additional post, paying fees accordingly.
• The University reserves the right to keep all or some of the vacancy if circumstances so warrant.
• Only selected candidates are communicated at the registered postal and email address.

Q3. What is the qualification for the JU Registrar post?

• A Master's Degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade, plus at least 15 years' experience as described in the notice. Alternatives are comparable research experience or 15 years' administrative experience, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent.

Q4. What is the age limit for the Registrar post?

• Age must be not less than 40 years. This is relaxable in case of exceptionally qualified candidates, and age is counted till the last date of submission of application.

Q6. What is the application fee?

• The fee is Rs. 500/- (US $ 50.00 or its rupee equivalent for an Indian citizen staying outside). It can be paid by net banking, debit / credit / Rupay card, or challan at SBI branches.
