- The Supreme Court of India has issued advertisement No. F.6/11/SPA/2026-SC (RC) dated 12/10/2026 for direct recruitment to 65 tentative vacancies of Senior Personal Assistant (Group 'B' Non-Gazetted) in Level 8 of the Pay Matrix (₹47,600–1,51,100), with initial basic pay of ₹47,600 plus allowances. Category-wise Vacancies
- The advertisement gives 65 tentative vacancies and does not print a category-wise split. Reservation for SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applies under Rule 4A of the Supreme Court Officers and Servants (Conditions of Service and Conduct) Rules, 1961. The number of posts may change as per the Registry's requirement.
Eligibility
- Education: Degree of a recognised university in India.
- Shorthand: Proficiency in English shorthand at 110 words per minute.
- Computer: Knowledge of computer operation with typing speed of 40 w.p.m.
- Candidates working in Central/State Government departments, nationalised banks or PSUs must submit a No Objection Certificate at document verification.
Age Limit
- As on 01/10/2026: minimum 18 years, maximum 30 years. Usual relaxation for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Physically Challenged and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules; up to 5 extra years for dependants of freedom fighters. No upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry. No relaxation for employees of other Government departments, PSUs or nationalised banks.

Salary
- Level 8 of the Pay Matrix: ₹47,600–1,51,100, with initial basic pay of ₹47,600 plus allowances as admissible under the rules. Selected candidates may have to work at odd hours and on holidays.

- City classes (HRA): X = Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Greater Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune. Y and Z cities are as listed by the Department of Expenditure (OM 21.07.2015). HRA is not paid if you live in government quarters.
- DA: 63% of basic pay, the central rate from 1 Jul 2026.
- TA: The X column uses the higher rate for listed big cities. Y and Z use the rate for other places; some Y cities (e.g. Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna) get the higher rate.
- CGHS: Deducted only in CGHS cities (all X cities have CGHS; many Y cities do). It is not deducted elsewhere.
- Not included: income tax (depends on your regime and declarations), group insurance (CGEGIS), professional tax and special allowances (e.g. NPA, MSP, risk or hardship allowances). Pay is for the entry cell; the official notification prevails.

Exam Pattern
- There is no negative marking in the objective test. If many candidates qualify, those scoring 50+ are shortlisted for the shorthand and typing tests in a 1:10 ratio to vacancies, and the interview is held in a 1:3 ratio.
