Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Assistant Professor (History): Candidates must fulfill the qualifications as prescribed in the UGC (Minimum Qualifications) Regulations, 2018 for the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates with a Ph.D. or who have qualified NET/SET/SLET are eligible for the higher consolidated pay of Rs 30,000 per month. Candidates without NET/PhD qualification receive Rs 22,000 per month.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Walk-in Interview: Selection will be based purely on a walk-in interview scheduled on 19 October 2026 (Monday) at 10:30 AM at the Office, Main Punjabi University Campus, Maur, District Bathinda.
  • Candidates must appear in person with self-attested copies of documents and original documents for verification.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA (Travel Allowance / Dearness Allowance) will be paid to candidates appearing for the interview.
  • Vacancy Modification Clause: The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies or cancel the advertisement.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

  • Self-attested copies of all educational and supporting documents
  • Original documents for verification during the walk-in interview
  • Original Matriculation / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
  • Consolidated Mark Sheets and Degree Certificates for all relevant qualifications
  • Experience Certificates on Official Letterhead (if applicable)
  • Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable)
  • Two recent passport-size photographs and a valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)

Important Instructions

  • The teaching assignment for P.T.E. teachers is purely temporary for semester / academic session 2026-27 up to the academic calendar of the session.
  • P.T.E. teachers may be assigned other academic work in addition to delivering lectures.
  • Remuneration for P.T.E. teachers will be paid as per Punjabi University, Patiala norms.
  • Late applications received after 16 October 2026 will not be entertained.
  • Candidates appearing for the interview will not be paid any TA/DA.
