Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale (Scouts & Guides Quota 2026-27)

• Recruitment is at the minimum of the scale of pay in the applicable Pay Matrix level. All postings fall within the Northern Railway zone; the specific division/unit is decided by Northern Railway administration at the time of appointment. Candidates may be transferred to any department, division, or establishment over Northern Railway in the exigencies of service.

Group 'C' (Level 2) – Educational Qualification

• Passed 12th (+2 stage) from a recognized board or equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate (50% not insisted upon for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen in NTPC categories and for candidates with higher qualification such as Graduation/Post-Graduation).
• OR Passed Matriculation from a recognized board plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship for Technician categories.
• OR Passed Matriculation from a recognized board plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT for Technician categories.

Group 'D' (Erstwhile) (Level 1) – Educational Qualification

• 10th pass + National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
• OR 10th pass + ITI.
• OR 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or NAC granted by NCVT.

Scouts & Guides Qualification (Mandatory for Both Posts)

• Holds a President's Scout / Guide / Rover / Ranger award OR Himalaya Wood Badge (HWB) in any section.
• Active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years with a Certificate of Activeness (Annexure-I) signed by the Group Leader, DOC, and DC — issued on or after 04.11.2026.
• Attended two events at National level or All Indian Railway's level AND two events at State level.
• No relaxation is permitted in the educational or Scouts & Guides qualification; both must be held at the time of application.

Age Relaxation

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• The selection is based on a two-part evaluation totalling 100 marks: a written examination followed by document verification and merit-based panel formation.
• Minimum 40% marks in the written examination required to qualify for the next stage (relaxation for reserved categories as per Railway Board rules).
• Candidates equal to 5 times the notified vacancies called for Document Verification on merit.
• Written Examination and Document Verification will be held in New Delhi only.
• Candidates finally qualifying must sign a declaration to undergo Unit Leader Training within 1 year of posting, run a Scout/Guide Unit, and assist Railway Scout administration; violation may invite action under D&A Rules.
• No TA/DA or accommodation is provided. SC/ST candidates who uploaded a valid community certificate receive free 2nd class travel authority with the E-Admit Card.

Application Fee Structure

• Payment is accepted online only in favour of RRC/NR. Cash, cheque, money order, IPO, demand draft, and fee stamps are not accepted. Refund is processed to the bank account used for payment. Economically Backward Classes means family income below Rs. 50,000 per annum, evidenced by an income certificate in Annexure-'E' format. Minorities includes Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis), and Sikhs.

How to Apply Online for RRC NR Recruitment 2026

• Visit the official RRC website www.rrcnr.org between 06 November 2026 and 06 December 2026.
• Click the acknowledgement box at the end of the notification to confirm you have read and will comply with its instructions.
• Select APPLY ONLINE — choose New Registration or Login for Already Registered Candidates.
• Complete all six parts of the dashboard: Part I (Registration), Part II (Application), Part III (Fee Payment), Part IV (Upload Photograph, Signature, Thumb Impression & Documents), Part V (Fee Payment Receipt), Part VI (Application Print).
• Upload a photograph in full Scout & Guide uniform (with cap), signature, thumb impression, and all required documents.
• To apply for both Level 1 and Level 2 posts, submit separate applications with separate fees for each level.
• Retain a printout of the completed application form for future reference.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Original 10th / Matriculation Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth (mandatory).
• All relevant educational certificates — 12th Mark Sheet & Pass Certificate (Group 'C'), 10th / ITI / NAC / Apprenticeship Certificates (Group 'D' as applicable).
• Self-attested President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or Himalaya Wood Badge Certificate & Parchment.
• Certificate of Activeness (Annexure-I) signed by Group Leader, DOC, and DC of Scouts/Guides — issued on or after 04.11.2026.
• Self-attested SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format, if applicable.
• PwBD / Minority / EBC Income Certificate in Annexure-'E' format, if applicable.
• Two recent passport-size photographs (one in full Scout & Guide uniform with cap) and valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN).
• Scanned Signature and Left Thumb Impression.
• National / All-Indian Railway / State / District event participation certificates for certificate marks.
• All certificates not in English or Hindi must be accompanied by a self-attested translation.
• Serving Central/State Government, Railway, or PSU employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at Document Verification.
• Candidates debarred for life from RRB/RRC examinations, or currently debarred, need not apply.
