CWSSU Meghalaya Recruitment 2026 – 149 Faculty Vacancies

Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

• The table below provides a department-wise breakdown of all 149 vacancies along with applicable basic pay levels as per State University Pay Scales.

Professor (18 Vacancies)

• An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject, actively engaged in research.
• A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total Research Score of 120 as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
• A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a university or college as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, or equivalent research experience at an equivalent level.
• OR an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in the concerned subject from any academic institution or industry, who has made a significant contribution to knowledge.

Associate Professor (46 Vacancies)

• A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject.
• A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point scale) in the concerned subject.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching or research in an academic or research post equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a university, college, or accredited research institution.
• A minimum of 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total Research Score of 75 as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.

Assistant Professor (85 Vacancies)

• Academic Qualification: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade point scale) in the concerned subject, from an Indian University or an accredited foreign University.
• Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% (from 55% to 50%) at the Master's degree level is applicable for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, as per UGC norms.
• Eligibility Test: The candidate must have cleared NET/CSIR-NET conducted by UGC-CSIR, or SET-NE, in the concerned subject.
• Exemption from NET/SLET/SET: Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (and amendments) are exempted from the requirement of NET/SET.
• Reservation of vacancies is as per the existing Reservation Policy and Guidelines of the Government of Meghalaya, as amended from time to time.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Selection is a two-stage process comprising Shortlisting followed by a Personal Interview.

• Create and complete your profile on the portal, furnishing details of educational qualification, work experience, publications, and other relevant information.
• Apply for the advertised post(s) through the portal and pay the application fee exclusively through the portal.
• Submit your application before 11 October 2026, midnight.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Educational qualification certificates (Master's Degree, Ph.D., etc.) and all consolidated mark sheets.
• NET/CSIR-NET/SET-NE certificate, for Assistant Professor applicants not exempted via Ph.D.
• Proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation Certificate or equivalent).
• Caste/Community Certificate (Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste, etc.) in the prescribed format issued by the appropriate authority, where applicable.
• Proof of teaching and/or research experience, as applicable to the post.
• Documentation supporting claimed Research Score / API Score and publication record (Professor and Associate Professor applicants) as per Appendix II Table 2 of UGC Regulations, 2018.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from current employer, for candidates already in service, to be produced at the time of interview.
• Two recent passport-size photographs and valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN).
• Important Instructions:
• The application fee (₹1,000 General / ₹500 ST/SC/OBC) is non-refundable once paid.
• Incomplete applications or applications not supported by requisite documents will be summarily rejected.
• If at any stage a candidate is found to have furnished false or misleading information, their candidature is liable to be cancelled and, if appointed, the appointment is liable to be terminated without notice.
• ST/SC certificates must be in the prescribed format issued by the appropriate authority.
• The decision of the Selection Committee is final and binding on all candidates.
