  • ESIC Medical College Kolkata has advertised 24 contractual teaching faculty positions across 12 Super Specialty Departments. The consolidated monthly remuneration varies by post designation.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • The academic qualification, teaching experience, and research experience for all posts will be as per the latest guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), Gazette notification no. CG-DL-E-05072025-264399 dated 30.06.2025 (Table C & Table D). Candidates must hold:
  • Appropriate postgraduate medical qualification (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) in the relevant Super Specialty discipline
  • Registration certificate from the State Medical Council or MCI/NMC
  • Teaching and research experience as prescribed in NMC Table C (for Associate Professor) and Table D (for Professor) for the respective Super Specialty
  • Research publications in indexed journals as required by NMC guidelines

Age Limit

  • The candidate's age must not exceed 69 years as on the date of document verification and interview. The maximum tenure of engagement shall not exceed 70 years of age.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • The selection for all 24 contractual Teaching Faculty positions at ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in an interview before the Selection Board constituted by the Dean.
  • Stage 1 – Document Verification: Candidates must produce original documents, self-attested copies, and the Demand Draft (if applicable) during reporting.
  • Stage 2 – Personal Interview: Candidates who clear document verification will be called for an interview before the Selection Board at the venue on 13 October 2026.
  • No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview, joining the institution, medical examination, or submission of documents.
  • Candidates reporting beyond 10:30 AM on 13 October 2026 will not be considered for the interview under any circumstances.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

  • Candidates must carry the following documents (originals + one set of self-attested photocopies + two self-attested colour passport-size photographs) to the walk-in venue:
  • Prescribed application form, properly filled (print on A4 paper from the official notification PDF)
  • Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth
  • All academic certificates and mark sheets – Higher Secondary, Graduate, Post Graduate, and any other qualification
  • Registration certificate issued by State Medical Council or MCI/NMC
  • MCI/NMC-recognized teaching experience certificate issued by the Head of the Institute or Department
  • Research publications in indexed journals
  • Valid Category / Caste certificate (SC, ST, OBC, EWS) in updated Government of India format
  • Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- (General category) in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1", drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Kolkata
  • Pension Payment Order (PPO) for candidates retired from Central/State Govt./PSU equivalent posts
  • NOC from present employer (mandatory for in-service / Government employees)
  • Service Bond Release Certificate (if applicable)
  • Two copies of recent self-attested colour passport-size photographs

Key Instructions

  • The engagement is purely on a contractual basis for a period of three years or till the posting of a regular incumbent or attaining 70 years of age, whichever is earlier, subject to annual performance review.
  • The post is terminable by either side with a prior notice of one month without assigning any reason.
  • No private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
  • Retired candidates from Central/State Govt./PSU from equivalent posts and persons working in recognized/approved Private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria may apply.
  • The Dean, ESI-PGIMSR, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka reserves the right to vary vacancies, increase, decrease, cancel, or withdraw the offer of engagement without assigning any reason.

What is the application fee for ESIC Medical College Kolkata Recruitment?

  • SC / ST candidates, Regular ESIC Candidates, Female Candidates, and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from the application fee (Nil). All other categories are required to pay Rs. 500/- via a Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1", drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Kolkata. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What is the salary structure for Teaching Faculty at ESIC Medical College Kolkata?

  • The consolidated monthly remuneration is: Professor – Rs. 2,63,070; Associate Professor – Rs. 1,74,936; Assistant Professor – Rs. 1,50,294. In addition, Super Specialty Teaching Faculty are entitled to transport allowance with DA on transport allowance as per rules.
