Vacancy Details & Specialization

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D.: Must hold a Ph.D. in the appropriate branch/discipline.
• Academic Record: Must have secured First Class in the preceding degree (Bachelor's/Master's) with a consistently very good academic record.
• CSE Specific Requirement: Candidates applying for Computer Science Engineering must hold a B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related CSE domains.

Salary Structure

• Pay Scale: As per 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
• Basic Pay: Rs. 84,700/- to Rs. 1,01,500/- (Pay Level 10).
• Fixation: The exact starting basic pay will be fixed based on the relevant Post-Ph.D. experience of the candidate.
• Additional Benefits: Includes HRA (House Rent Allowance), DA (Dearness Allowance), and other allowances as per Institute rules.

Selection Process

• The selection for Assistant Professor posts at IIT Mandi does not involve a written exam. The process is:
• Shortlisting: Applications are scrutinized based on academic merit, research publications, and relevance to the department's needs. Merely being eligible does not guarantee an interview call.
• Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview (Presentation/Technical Interview).
