  • Pay Level Breakdown:
  • Level 1: Rs. 28,000/- per month
  • Level 2: Rs. 32,000/- per month
  • Level 3: Rs. 36,000/- per month
  • The remuneration is applicable for engagement of a minimum of 6 hours per day for 6 days in a week. Rates will be pro-rated if engagement hours differ. No HRA is admissible.

Educational & Sports Qualification Required

  • Diploma or higher degree in Sports Coaching from Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), OR
  • Medal winner / Participant in National Sports Events/Games representing an Indian State, OR
  • Medal winner / Participant in International Sports Events/Games representing India.
  • Candidates must preferably have 15+ years of coaching experience in the respective sports discipline, with any specific certification or licence required in the identified sports discipline.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: 64 years as on 09 October 2026
  • Maximum tenure of engagement is subject to an upper age limit of 65 years
  • A Medical Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner is mandatory before engagement

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Walk-in Interview: Candidates will be assessed through a direct walk-in interview scheduled on 27 October 2026 between 10:00 AM and 01:00 PM at the Centre for L&D, Durgapur Steel Plant.
  • Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate from a registered medical practitioner/doctor before engagement.
  • No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

  • Filled-in Application Format (Annexure-A) in capital letters with one recent passport-size colour photograph signed across
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Matriculation Certificate)
  • Certificates & Mark Sheets of the required sports coaching qualification
  • National/International sports achievement certificates
  • Experience Certificates and Service Certificate issued by the parent organization (for retired employees)
  • Caste/Category Certificate wherever applicable
  • Photo Identity Proof (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card / Passport / Driving License)
  • NOC from present employer if employed under PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, or Government Department
  • Self-Certificate confirming that the candidate has not separated due to Voluntary Retirement

Important Instructions

  • The engagement is purely temporary on a tenure basis for one year, extendable twice up to a maximum of three years.
  • Ex-employees separated through Voluntary Retirement are not eligible for engagement.
  • Selected coaches must render services in emergent conditions beyond normal working hours without extra remuneration.
  • Income Tax/GST will be dealt with as per applicable provisions under the Income Tax/GST Act.
  • Engagement can be terminated by either party with one month's notice, or forthwith under conditions such as poor performance, medical unfitness, or moral turpitude.
  • Ex-employees of SAIL may retain Company accommodation; other ex-employees may be provided 2 BR or equivalent accommodation on a payment basis subject to availability.
