Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

• The consolidated pay escalates annually across the three-year contract. Extension for up to two additional years is subject to organisational requirements and individual performance, with the pay structure for the extended period as per Cochin Shipyard norms.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Pass in X Standard, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from the Indian Navy, awarded by a recognised University / Institute / Examination Board. An equivalency certificate must be produced for non-standard qualifications.
• Essential Experience: Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in the operation, maintenance, and watchkeeping of marine equipment and systems on Indian Naval Surface Ships or Submarines (as Ex-Indian Navy personnel).
• Desirable Experience: Knowledge of propulsion systems on Naval Surface Ships and Submarines; familiarity with Indian Navy administrative procedures; hands-on experience with Marine Main Engines, Gearboxes, Auxiliary Machineries (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC, Sewage Treatment, Oily Water Separator, PGD systems), Weapon Equipment, Sensors, and Deck Machineries; proficiency in computer-based data management and record keeping.
• Restriction: Only Ex-Indian Navy Personnel are eligible. The post is not identified as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Certificate Verification: Candidates must produce original documents for verification of age, qualification, experience, and Indian Navy discharge credentials.
• Personal Interview: The interview is conducted out of 100 marks. Cochin Shipyard reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on eligibility requirements ascertained from the uploaded certificates before calling them for the interview.
• Merit Preparation: The final rank list is prepared based on marks secured in the Personal Interview. In case of ties, seniority in age will decide relative merit.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending certificate verification or the Personal Interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
• Diploma Certificate and all semester / consolidated mark sheets (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
• Equivalency Certificate (if the qualification is an Indian Navy equivalent)
• Experience Certificates on official letterhead confirming 15+ years of marine equipment operation and maintenance on Indian Naval ships
• Discharge Certificate / Service Book / Pension Payment Order (PPO) from the Indian Navy
• Recent passport-size colour photograph and valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
• Caste / Category Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if claiming relaxation)
• Candidates must upload all required certificates during online registration on the Cochin Shipyard SAP Online Portal between 12 October 2026 and 30 October 2026. After successful submission, verify that the application status shows as "In process" and retain a printout containing the unique registration number.

What is the salary structure for the Guarantee Engineer contract post?

• The consolidated monthly pay is Rs. 1,00,000 in the first year, Rs. 1,03,000 in the second year, and Rs. 1,06,090 in the third year. The pay for any extended period (beyond 3 years) will be as per Cochin Shipyard norms at that time.

What is the selection process for Cochin Shipyard Guarantee Engineer?

• The selection process consists of Certificate Verification followed by a Personal Interview out of 100 marks. Shortlisting may be done based on uploaded certificates. Seniority in age breaks ties in the merit list. No TA/DA is paid to candidates.
