Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Essential Qualification (All Posts): Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or equivalent foreign degree, plus NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018.
  • Ph.D. from Foreign University: Accepted if the university is ranked among top 500 in World University Rankings (QS, THE, or ARWU) at any time.
  • Subject-Specific Requirement: For Assistant Professor – Sanskrit, Hindu Studies, and Indian Knowledge System (IKS), candidates must have proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Sanskrit.
  • Experience: Not specified in notification; selection based on academic score and interview.
  • Age Limit: As per UGC/Government of Gujarat norms (refer official notification for exact upper age limit and relaxations).

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Shortlisting: Based on Academic Score as per Appendix II (Table 3A for Universities, Table 3B for Colleges) of UGC Regulations.
  • Interview: Shortlisted candidates called for interview only.
  • Final Selection: Based solely on performance in the interview.
  • Screening Test (if applicable): If number of applicants exceeds a certain threshold (typically 30:1 or as decided by university), a screening test may be conducted.
  • Document Verification: Mandatory for all shortlisted candidates at time of interview.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

  • Send the printout along with self-attested copies of all certificates/documents via Speed Post or Courier only so as to reach the university on or before 23/11/2026 till 17:00 Hrs.
