  • A total of 4 vacancies are notified under the Khelo India Scheme of SAI (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) for the post of Coach / Past Champion Athlete across four sports disciplines.
  • Total annual remuneration: Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum (fixed). No Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, LTC, conveyance, residential phone, medical reimbursement, or personal staff is admissible.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Eligibility is evaluated on a preference-based hierarchy applicable to both Individual and Team Sports disciplines. Candidates must meet one of the four preference tiers below.

Age Limit

  • The maximum age limit for applicants is 40 years. Age relaxation may be accorded in deserving cases as per the discretion of the competent authority. No specific category-wise relaxation schedule is detailed in the notification.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • The selection of candidates will be based on periodic review and performance assessment. The following conditions govern the engagement:
  • The engagement is on a contractual basis for an initial period of 02 years, subject to extension based on performance and institutional requirement.
  • Performance of the selected candidate will be continuously reviewed, and extension will be considered on the basis of periodic review.
  • The competent authority reserves the right to terminate the contract by giving 30 days' notice if performance is not found satisfactory, and may withdraw the offer at any time without assigning any reason.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for interview or for joining the assignment.
  • Tax Deductible at Source (TDS) or any other applicable tax will be deducted as per prevailing rules before payment.
  • Candidates who have earlier applied as per Notice No. 3656/DS dated 07.08.2025 need not apply again.

  • Download the Panjab University Coach / Past Champion Athlete Official Notification PDF (Advt. No. 6734/DS) from the official website.
  • Fill out the prescribed application form with complete educational, personal, and sports achievement details.
  • Attach self-attested copies of all eligible educational certificates, professional documents, sports achievement certificates, valid ID proof, and Aadhaar Card.
  • Affix an attested photograph on the application form.
  • Submit the duly completed application by Hand, Registered Post, or Speed Post to:Office of the Director,1st Floor, Directorate of Sports,Panjab University, Chandigarh — 160014On or before 17 October 2026 up to 5:00 PM.

3. Is there any application fee for Panjab University Recruitment 2026?

5. What is the salary or remuneration for the Coach / Past Champion Athlete post?
