Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Educational Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical Examination Board, Gujarat, or any recognized university. Diploma in Automobile Engineering is accepted as equivalent.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
  • Age Limit: 18 to 33 years as of 09 November 2026. Relaxation applies: General Women (5 years), Reserved Men (5 years), Reserved Women (10 years), PwD (Up to 45 years).

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • The selection process is based on a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) or OMR mode examination conducted by GSSSB.
  • Part A: Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, Indian Constitution, Current Affairs, Gujarati/English Comprehension (90 Marks).
  • Part B: Mechanical Engineering-related Subjects (120 Marks).
  • Scoring: Total 210 Marks. One-fourth negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Qualifying Marks: 40% separately in Part A and Part B.
  • Post-Exam: Document Verification and other formalities as per Board rules. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the examination.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

  • Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth.
  • Diploma Degree and Consolidated Mark Sheets (Mechanical / Automobile Engineering).
  • Experience Certificates on Official Letterhead (if applicable).
  • Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable).
  • Disability Certificate for Advt 464/2026-27 (Hearing Impairment category only).
  • Two recent passport-size photographs & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN).

  • The initial fixed salary is Rs. 49,600 per month. After 5 years, the candidate moves to Pay Level 7 (Rs. 39,900 - Rs. 1,16,600).
