Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

• The single Project Assistant post is funded by Jammu and Kashmir Science, Technology & Innovation Council (JKST&IC) under the research project titled "Design & Deployment of Smart Weather Stations for Hyperlocal Data-Driven Precision Horticulture in J&K."

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and called for a physical interview before the Selection Committee at the IUST, Awantipora campus.
• The shortlisted list of candidates and the interview date, time, and venue will be displayed on the official University website at www.iust.ac.in.
• The Selection Committee reserves the right not to fill up the post if no candidate is found suitable for the position.
• The University reserves the right to cancel the post without assigning any reason.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the interview.
• The engagement is purely temporary, performance-based, and co-terminus with the project duration.
• The selected candidate must join within 07 days from the date of issuance of the appointment order.
• A candidate resigning before completion of the engagement must serve a one-month notice or pay one month's emoluments in lieu thereof.

• Submit the hardcopy of the application form along with all relevant documents and certificates to the Office, Department of Electrical Engineering, IUST, Awantipora by 19 October 2026. No other mode of application shall be accepted.

What is the salary structure for IUST Project Assistant?

• The Project Assistant will receive a monthly remuneration of ₹20,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as admissible. Payment of salary is subject to release of funds by the funding agency.

What is the minimum qualification for IUST Project Assistant?

• Candidates must hold a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or an allied discipline with 55% marks. Practical experience in IoT, Embedded Systems, and Python is desirable but not mandatory.
