Post-Wise Vacancy & Pay Scale

• The Karnataka Examinations Authority has released 187 Group-C technical vacancies under the Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) across multiple Karnataka Government departments, authorities, boards and corporations. All posts carry the same pay scale of Rs. 54,175 – Rs. 99,400 per month.
• Age relaxation: Up to 43 years for Category 2A/2B/3A/3B; up to 45 years for SC/ST/Category-I, as per applicable Karnataka Government rules. The notified limits include a five-year general age concession.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess the prescribed diploma qualification by the application closing date of 26 November 2026.
• Assistant Town Planner: Diploma in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering (Draughtsmanship), as prescribed in the notification.
• Junior Engineer (Civil) – Greater Bengaluru Authority: Three-Year Diploma in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Transportation Planning, Structural Engineering, Planning Engineering, or a Government-Recognized equivalent qualification. Preference will be given to candidates trained in AutoCAD.
• Junior Engineer (Civil) – Karnataka Housing Board, KRIDL, Inland Water Transport Directorate, Karnataka State Minerals Corporation: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Government-Recognized Institution.
• Draftsman – Karnataka Slum Development Board: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Government-Recognized Institution.
• Holding a qualification other than the prescribed one does not automatically establish eligibility. Candidates whose qualifications are not officially recognized or accepted as equivalent may be disqualified during verification.

Application Fee

• Fee payment must be completed online by 27 November 2026. The application fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern

• Selection is based on a two-stage competitive examination followed by document verification.
• Competitive Examination (Offline OMR): Two papers of 100 marks each (Total 200 marks, 4 hours). Paper 1 covers General Knowledge (current affairs, science, geography, Indian Constitution, Indian and Karnataka history, administration, rural development, Panchayat Raj). Paper 2 covers subject-specific technical knowledge relevant to the post. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per incorrect answer applies.
• Compulsory Kannada Language Examination: Scheduled for 8 January 2027, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Maximum marks 150, minimum qualifying marks 50. Qualifying in nature; marks are not added to competitive examination merit. Candidates who have already passed a recognized Kannada examination or meet prescribed Kannada-medium criteria may be exempt.
• Document Verification: KEA or the concerned department will verify educational qualifications, age, reservation and other eligibility certificates.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the competitive examination or document verification stages.

Pay Scale Progression

• The notified basic pay scale is Rs. 54,175 – 1,375 – 58,300 – 1,500 – 64,300 – 1,650 – 74,200 – 1,900 – 85,600 – 2,300 – 99,400. These figures represent basic pay only; applicable allowances and deductions are governed by Karnataka Government rules.

• SSLC or equivalent certificate for date-of-birth verification.
• Relevant diploma certificate and all semester / consolidated mark sheets.
• Reservation / caste certificate in Karnataka Government prescribed format (if applicable).
• Rural reservation certificate (if claiming benefit).
• Kannada-medium study certificate (if applicable).
• Ex-Serviceman / PwD / Transgender certificates (where applicable).
• Recent passport-size photograph (JPEG, 5–200 KB) and candidate signature (JPEG, 5–70 KB).
• Valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN).
• Incorrect qualifications, category details or unsupported reservation claims may result in application rejection.
