Category-wise Vacancy Details

• Within the total, 7 posts are for ex-servicemen. No post is reserved for PwD candidates, but candidates with locomotor disability (LC) and acid attack victims (AAV) can apply, as stated in the advertisement.

Eligibility

• Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised board or university, or one of the equivalent diplomas recognised by the Forest & Environment Department (resolution dated 27/05/2025). The 14 accepted diplomas are: Civil and Rural Engg, Civil Draftsman, Civil Engg, Civil Engg and Planning, Civil Engg (Building Service Engg), Civil Engg (Construction Technology), Civil Engg (Construction), Civil Technology, Construction Engg, Construction Technology, Construction Technology and Management, Quantity Surveying and Construction Management, Survey Engg, and Transportation Engg.
• The recruitment rules quoted in the advert also mention a 1- or 2-year Surveyor certificate from an ITI. However, the department's note says only the diplomas listed above are accepted, so check the advert's exact wording before you apply.
• Not eligible: candidates holding a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications, as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi or both.
• Minimum physical standards as given below.

Age Limit

• 18 to 33 years as on 20/11/2026.
• Relaxation: General women +5 (max 38); reserved-category men +5 (max 38); reserved-category women +10 (max 43); General PwD men +10 (max 43); General PwD women +15 (max 45); reserved PwD men +15 (max 45); reserved PwD women +20 (max 45).
• Ex-servicemen: length of service plus 3 years.

Physical Standards & PET

• Men: height 163 cm (155 cm for Gujarat ST candidates), chest 79 cm unexpanded / 84 cm expanded, weight 50 kg.
• Women: height 150 cm (145 cm for Gujarat ST candidates), weight 45 kg.
• After appointment, a walking test must be cleared: men 25 km in 4 hours, women 14 km in 4 hours.

Salary

• First 5 years: fixed pay of ₹26,000 a month (Finance Department resolution dated 18/10/2023).
• After 5 years of satisfactory service: regular appointment at ₹25,500–81,100 (Level-4, 7th Pay Commission).
• This is subject to the Supreme Court's decision in SLP No. 14124/2012 and 14125/2012.

Exam Pattern

• One-stage objective test (CBRT or OMR), 210 marks, 210 questions, 3 hours.
• Part A (90 marks): reasoning and data interpretation (30), quantitative aptitude (30), and Constitution, current affairs and Gujarati/English comprehension (30).
• Part B (120 marks): subject-related questions.
• Negative marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
• Minimum 40% in each part for all categories.
• Widows and eligible sports candidates get a 5% bonus on marks, as per rules.
