  • The Tahsildar Office, Guhagar has announced 6 contractual vacancies for the post of Mahsul Sevak (Kotwal) under notification का./आस्था./महसूल सेवक/गुहागर/जाहि/०१/२०२६. The category-wise distribution is as follows:
  • The remuneration will be paid as per the rules and periodic revisions decided by the Maharashtra Government from time to time. No fixed pay amount has been specified in the notification.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Residential Requirement: Candidate must be a resident of Guhagar Taluka, Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. A Residence Certificate issued by the Tahsildar is required.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidate must have passed Class 4 from a recognised school and must possess working knowledge of the Marathi language.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years as of 02 October 2026. Age relaxation, if any, will be applicable as per Maharashtra Government rules for reserved categories.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • The selection for Mahsul Sevak (Kotwal) will be carried out in the following stages:
  • Written Examination (100 Marks): A single written test comprising 50 questions covering General Knowledge, Intelligence Test, Arithmetic, Marathi Language, and Geographical & Historical Information of Ratnagiri District. Each correct answer carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking.
  • Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents (scheduled 17 November 2026 to 27 November 2026).
  • Merit List & Appointment: Final appointments will be made based on a merit list prepared from the written examination results. Appointment letters are scheduled for issuance on 28 November 2026.
  • Important Clause: No Traveling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid to candidates for attending the examination. Selected candidates must reside within the assigned village/saza under Guhagar Taluka after appointment and must execute a personal indemnity bond as per Mumbai Financial Rules 1959, Rule 51.

How to Apply – Offline Process

  • Visit the Tahsildar Office, Guhagar, Dist. Ratnagiri in person between 03 October 2026 and 17 October 2026 during office hours (excluding public holidays) to collect the prescribed application form.
  • Fill the application form accurately in your own handwriting.
  • Affix two recent passport-size colour photographs on the form and self-sign them.
  • Enclose self-attested photocopies of all required educational, residential, caste, and other supporting documents along with the Small Family Certificate in the prescribed format.
  • Pay the required application fee in cash at the Tahsildar Office, Guhagar, and obtain the fee receipt.
  • Submit the completed application form along with all enclosures and the fee receipt in person at the Tahsildar Office, Guhagar on or before 17 October 2026.
  • Note: Applications sent via postal mail, courier, or email will not be accepted. Incomplete applications, applications without required documents, or those received after the deadline will be rejected.

  • Guhagar Taluka Residence Certificate issued by the Tahsildar

  • Caste certificate and validity certificate (if applicable)
  • Non-Creamy Layer Certificate valid up to 17/10/2026 (for OBC candidates, if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate valid up to 17/10/2026 (if applicable)
  • Small Family Certificate in the prescribed format
  • Marriage registration certificate or Gazette copy for name change (if applicable)
  • Application fee cash receipt from the Tahsildar Office, Guhagar
  • Additional Instructions: Candidates must correctly state their applied reservation category on the application form. Prohibited items such as calculators, mobile phones, smart watches, and electronic gadgets are strictly banned inside the examination hall. The number of vacancies is subject to change (increase or decrease) at the discretion of the recruiting authority.
