Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Assistant Professor – Perspectives in Education: Master's degree in Sciences / Humanities / Social Sciences / Commerce with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks; or M.A. (Education) with at least 55% marks and B.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Mathematics Education: M.Sc. Mathematics with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Physical Science Education: M.Sc. Physics / Chemistry with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Natural Science Education: M.Sc. Botany / Zoology with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Social Science Education: M.A. History / Geography / Economics / Political Science / Sociology with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Languages Education: M.A. in the language concerned with at least 55% marks and M.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Health and Physical Education: M.P.Ed. with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Assistant Professor – Fine Arts / Performing Arts Education: M.F.A. or M.P.A. (Music / Dance / Theatre) with at least 55% marks, plus NET/SET or Ph.D.
• Experience: No prior teaching experience is mandatory. However, experience in an NCTE-recognised teacher education institution carries weightage during the shortlisting process.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Scrutiny & Shortlisting: Applications will be scrutinised and candidates shortlisted based on academic record, research score, and teaching experience.
• Teaching Demonstration / Seminar: Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a teaching demonstration or seminar on a designated topic related to their curricular area.
• Interview: Candidates who qualify the teaching demonstration stage will be called for a final interview before the selection committee.
• Document Verification: Original documents of selected candidates will be verified before the offer of appointment.
• No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the teaching demonstration or interview.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Certificates and mark lists of all qualifications starting from SSLC onwards
• NET / SET / SLET Certificate, or Ph.D. certificate with proof of compliance with UGC Regulations
• Experience certificates from the head of the institution (if applicable)
• Proof of date of birth (Matriculation Certificate / SSLC)
• Community / Non-Creamy Layer / disability certificate, wherever applicable
• Copies of the first page of research publications with journal and ISSN details (if applicable)
• No Objection Certificate from the current employer (if in service)
• Two recent passport-size photographs & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
• Printed copy of the application fee payment receipt
• Submission Instructions: Send the printout of the submitted online application with self-attested copies of all documents to: The Registrar, Sreenarayanaguru Open University, Kureepuzha, Kollam, Kerala. The envelope must be superscribed: "Application for the post of Assistant Professor in Teacher Education — [Curricular Area]". Candidates applying for more than one curricular area must submit separate applications with required fees.

• Fill in all particulars and upload legible copies of required documents.
• Remit the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1000 (General/OBC) or Rs. 500 (SC/ST/PwBD) online to Account No. 361401010035599, IFSC: UBIN0536148, Branch: Union Bank, Kollam-1.
• Obtain a copy of the fee receipt to submit along with the hard copy of the application.
