Exam Pattern
- One-stage main examination in OMR or CBT. All questions are objective. No negative marking. If a subject is held in more than one shift, marks are normalised with the formula on jssc.jharkhand.gov.in. Paper 1 (mother tongue) is qualifying: minimum 30%, and other papers are evaluated only after that. Paper 1 marks are not added to merit.
Syllabus
- Paper 1 follows the mother-tongue syllabus approved by the Jharkhand Academic Council, at matric level.
- Paper 2 language syllabus is Annexure XII (intermediate) or Annexure XIII (graduate).
- Intermediate Paper 3: general studies, everyday science, matric-level maths, mental ability, basic computers, Jharkhand knowledge, plus JAC Class 1–12 social science and science/maths at +2 difficulty.
- Graduate Paper 3 uses the same general-studies syllabus at graduate difficulty. Paper 4 subject syllabus is Annexure XIV (and Annexure XIII for language).
Selection Method
- Merit is on the main exam after the mother-tongue qualifying bar (and the 33% bar in the graduate optional paper). Document verification of education, training, caste, local-resident and experience certificates follows. If marks are equal, the older candidate is placed higher. If date of birth is also the same, the tie-break follows the Department of Personnel norms cited in the brochure. Exam entry is provisional.
