Post-Wise Vacancy and Pay Scale

• ACTREC has notified 1 vacancy for the post of Scientific Officer (Bioinformatics) under the Department of Hematopathology and Cytogenetics, ACTREC, Navi Mumbai. The consolidated monthly remuneration depends on the highest qualification held by the candidate.
• Ph.D. holders receive the higher consolidated pay of Rs. 67,700 per month, while M.Sc./M.Tech holders are placed at Rs. 56,100 per month. The position is contractually engaged for an initial duration of one year, extendable based on the requirements of ACTREC.

Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. Route: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline. One year of experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based data analytics is desirable.
• M.Sc./M.Tech Route: M.Sc. or M.Tech in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline. Candidates at this level are eligible at a lower pay grade (Rs. 56,100 per month).
• Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python is mandatory.
• Genome Sequencing: Hands-on proficiency with human genome sequencing data.
• Desirable Experience: Prior experience in Cancer Bioinformatics is preferred but not mandatory.

Selection Process and Screening Clause

• Candidates will be assessed through the following stages:
• Walk-In Interview: Eligible candidates must report to the designated venue between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM on 21 October 2026. Reporting outside the stated window will not be entertained.
• Zoom Interview (Alternative): Candidates unable to attend in person may request a Zoom interview by sending an email to [email protected] along with bio-data and scanned documents on or before 20 October 2026, 05:30 PM.
• Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified at the venue prior to or during the interview.
