• Selection is based primarily on academic merit. Applicants are ranked by their Class 12 or Class 10 marks, as applicable. If candidates have the same percentage, preference is given to the candidate whose parents have lower income.
• The process-at-a-glance diagram on page 7 shows that applications are automatically routed to one of LIC’s 112 Divisions based on the applicant’s address PIN code. Eligible candidates are ranked within the Division, followed by selection against the available vacancies.
• Selected candidates are informed by email. Physical document verification is then carried out by Divisional Officials to authenticate marks and income before the scholarship is credited to the verified bank account through NEFT.
