Post-Wise Vacancy and Pay Scale

• Pay Scale Elevation: After completion of three years of regular service in the post, the incumbent will be elevated to the scale of Rs. 1,20,000 – Rs. 2,80,000 (Pre-revised Rs. 51,300 – Rs. 73,000), subject to fulfilling all relevant conditions.

Educational Qualification

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution.

Deputation / Eligibility Criteria

• The post is open to officers meeting at least one of the following conditions:
• Officers holding posts in the scale of Rs. 80,000 – Rs. 2,20,000 (Pre-revised Rs. 32,900 – Rs. 58,000) with 3 years of regular service in the grade in the Civil Engineering Department of a Major Port Authority.
• Officers holding the post of Chief Engineer and equivalent posts in the scale of Rs. 1,00,000 – Rs. 2,60,000 (Pre-revised Rs. 43,200 – Rs. 66,000) with 2 years of regular service in the grade in the Civil Engineering Department.
• Officers holding the post of Deputy Chief Engineer and equivalent in the scale of Rs. 80,000 – Rs. 2,20,000 (Pre-revised Rs. 32,900 – Rs. 58,000) and above with 5 years of regular service in the grade in Central Government, State Government, Union Territory Administration, Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous Bodies (other than Major Port Authorities).
• Age Limit: The upper age limit for direct recruitment / absorption is 45 years. Applicable relaxation rules for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD candidates will be followed as per Government of India guidelines.

Selection Process and Screening Clause

• The selection for the Chief Engineer post at Mormugao Port Authority is based on merit evaluated through the overall grading in Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) / Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) of eligible candidates.
• The bench mark for overall grading in ACRs/APARs must not be below 'Very Good'.
• Officers with grading below 'Very Good' will not be considered for selection.
• Applications forwarded through improper channel or without complete ACRs/APARs will be summarily rejected.
