Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Stage-I: Written Examination — 70 marks: The objective written examination is conducted on an OMR sheet and lasts 90 minutes. Part 1 carries 50 marks for General Knowledge and Current Affairs, General English, and General Mathematics at the Class VIII level. Part 2 carries 20 marks for Mizo-language proficiency at the Middle School level. The 20-mark Mizo-language part is qualifying only. A candidate must score at least 40 percent, or 8 out of 20 marks, in this part. Mizo-language marks are not counted when the merit list is prepared.
  • Stage-II: Interview and Viva-Voce — 20 marks: Candidates are shortlisted for the interview and document verification in a 1:3 ratio, subject to the written-examination merit. A minimum score of 60 percent, or 12 out of 20 marks, is required in this stage.
  • Final selection: The final merit is based on the combined written-examination and interview marks. If totals are equal, candidates with more written-examination marks are preferred. If those marks are also equal, the older candidate is preferred. The Court may determine or revise the cut-off marks.
  • Admission at every stage is provisional. A candidate found ineligible before or after selection may have the candidature cancelled without notice. Selection or issuance of an admit card or call letter does not confirm final eligibility. The number of posts may also be increased or reduced at the time of final selection, and selected candidates may be assigned any Group-D position according to administrative convenience.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written examination or the interview.
