Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering from an eligible institution, or any of the explicitly recognized equivalent diploma qualifications (such as Diploma in Civil Construction, Public Health and Environment Engineering, Construction Technology, etc.).
• Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications is mandatory. Candidates without a basic computer certificate can apply but must submit proof before appointment.
• Language Proficiency: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required.
• Critical Exclusion Warning: The notification explicitly states that candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.E / B.Tech) are NOT eligible. Only Diploma holders or department-recognized equivalent qualifications are accepted.
• Age Limit: 18 to 33 years as of 29 October 2026. Upper age limit relaxation: 38 years for reserved category males, 43 years for reserved category females, and 38 years for unreserved females.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• Examination Pattern: Selection involves a single-stage objective competitive examination (CBRT/OMR) consisting of 210 marks total.
• Part A (Reasoning & General Awareness): 90 Marks (Reasoning & data interpretation: 30; quantitative aptitude: 30; Constitution, current affairs, Gujarati and English comprehension: 30).
• Part B (Civil Engineering Technical Subjects): 120 Marks (Irrigation, water resource management, surveying, soil mechanics, concrete technology, estimation/costing, hydrology, hydraulics, structural mechanics, RCC design, construction materials).
• Duration & Negative Marking: Total duration is 3 hours. There is a negative marking of one-fourth (1/4th) of the marks assigned to a question for each incorrect answer.
• Qualifying Marks: Candidates must secure at least 40% separately in Part A and Part B. The minimum qualifying standard cannot fall below 40% for any category.
• Merit List & Verification: A merit list will be prepared based on examination scores, followed by physical document verification.
• Travel Allowance (TA/DA): No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the examination.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• OTR Registration details and registered mobile/email details on OJAS portal.
• SSC Marksheet and required educational certificates (Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent).
• Proof of age and identity (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.).
• Category, EWS, non-creamy layer, PwD, ex-servicemen or other supporting certificates, if applicable.
• Bank account details and first page of passbook (for fee refund processing if applicable).
• Recent passport-size photograph and signature meeting OJAS specifications.
• Payment receipt and confirmed application printout.

What is the application fee structure and refund policy?

• The application fee is ₹500 for Unreserved category candidates and ₹400 for all women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, and ex-servicemen candidates. The fee is refundable only if the candidate successfully appears for the competitive examination. Non-appearing candidates or rejected applications are not eligible for a refund.
