Post-Wise Vacancy and Pay Scale

• VSSUT has announced a total of 4 vacancies across four engineering disciplines. The remuneration varies depending on whether the candidate is engaged as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or a Project Associate (PA).

Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification

• Each post has specific educational and qualification requirements. Candidates must ensure they meet the criteria for the discipline they are applying to.
• Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate — Electrical & Electronics Engineering: Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses selected through National Eligibility Tests — CSIR-UGC NET or GATE — or B.Tech / M.Tech in EEE / EE / ECE / ETC / IT / CS / Instrumentation Engineering, or M.Sc in Electronics / Physics.
• Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate — Civil Engineering: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering with minimum CGPA 6.5 or 60% marks and valid GATE / NET score; or M.E. / M.Tech in Structural Engineering / Construction Technology with minimum CGPA 6.5 or 60% marks.
• Project Associate — Mechanical Engineering: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First Class. Desirable: M.Tech in Thermal Engineering with First Class.
• Project Associate — Computer Science & Engineering: B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics / Computer Science / EEE, or M.Sc in Computer Science / Electronics, or M.Tech in Electronics / Computer Science, or MCA.

Selection Process and Screening Clause

• The selection for all four posts at VSSUT will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview scheduled on 09 October 2026 at the VSSUT Campus, Burla, Sambalpur, Odisha.
• Candidates must first complete the online application on or before 08 October 2026.
• Eligible candidates shortlisted after online screening will be called for the walk-in interview.
• In the event that a large number of candidates appear, the university reserves the right to conduct a screening written test before the interview.
• Final selection will be based on academic performance, GATE / NET score (where applicable), and performance in the walk-in interview.
• No TA / DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the walk-in interview.

Required Documents and Instructions for Candidates

• Candidates attending the walk-in interview must carry the following documents in original along with one set of self-attested photocopies:
• Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate or Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
• All Degree and Consolidated Mark Sheets for B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / M.Sc / MCA (as applicable to the post applied for)
• Valid GATE or CSIR-UGC NET Score Card (mandatory for JRF positions — Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering)
• Experience Certificates on Official Letterhead, if applicable
• Two recent passport-size photographs and Valid Government Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)
• Caste / Category Certificate in Central Government prescribed format, if applicable
