Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): First class Master's Degree in Life Sciences / Environmental Science / Geography / Forestry or allied disciplines with NET qualification.
  • Desired Skills: Working knowledge of RS-GIS, ecological modelling, R, and experience of working on biodiversity in mountain environment.
  • Non-NET Candidates: Can apply and will be considered as Junior Project Fellow (JPF). Fellowship for JPF will be as per the norms of Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Applications will be screened based on eligibility and experience.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview via email.
  • Note: No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview at Gangtok.

  • Original Matriculation (10th) Certificate / Birth Certificate as Proof of Date of Birth
  • All Degree and Consolidated Mark Sheets (Master's Degree)
  • Valid Category / Caste Certificate in Central Government prescribed format (if applicable)
  • Two recent passport-size photographs & Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar / Voter ID / PAN)

What is the salary for Sikkim University Junior Research Fellow?

  • The JRF will receive Rs. 37,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 9%.
