Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a Matriculation (10th Class) pass.
• Age Requirement: Candidate must be an adult, i.e., minimum age of 18 years.
• Desirable Skill: Computer knowledge will be given preference during merit calculation.
• Residency: Applicant must be a resident of the concerned panchayat or ward where the shop is located.
• Exclusivity: Only one member from a joint family can be allotted a fair price shop.
• Disqualifications: Elected representatives (Mukhiya, Sarpanch, MLA, MP, etc.), flour mill owners and their close relatives, minors, mentally unsound persons, bankrupts, persons convicted under the Essential Commodities Act 1955, and persons holding an office of profit under the government are ineligible to apply.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• The appointment will be finalized purely on a merit basis derived from academic qualifications. The following priority order will be applied to eligible candidates:
• Self Help Groups (SHGs)
• Women cooperative societies
• Ex-servicemen cooperative societies
• Educated unemployed
• Residents of the concerned panchayat or ward
• Applications submitted before the advertisement publication date (29 October 2026) will not be considered. Applying more than once for the same panchayat or ward will result in the rejection of all such applications.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

• Candidates must attach the following documents along with the duly filled Schedule-1 (for individuals) or Schedule-2 (for SHGs/Cooperative Societies) application form:
• Three recent passport size colored photographs (one self-attested pasted on top right corner).
• Self-attested copies of educational certificates and mark sheets (Matriculation).
• Self-attested copy of computer knowledge certificate.
• Self-attested copy of caste certificate issued by Circle Officer (if applicable).
• Self-attested copy of residential certificate.
• Self-attested copy of character certificate or affidavit from Executive Magistrate not older than six months.
• Affidavit sworn before Executive Magistrate regarding family members not holding PDS shop, non-holding of elected post, non-ownership of flour mill, and non-holding of office of profit.
• Send the application strictly through registered post to the Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Begusarai, Bihar so that it reaches before 30 November 2026.
