  • Tenure: Initially one year, extendable up to three years based on performance and requirement. Minimum notice period on either side is 30 days.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India. The last date for applying (19 November 2026) determines eligibility in all respects.
  • Essential Qualification: Master of Planning with specialization in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Housing, Environmental Planning, Transport Planning, or equivalent.
  • Essential Experience: 3 years of relevant experience – for candidates without a Ph.D. 1 year of relevant experience – for candidates with a Ph.D.
  • Desirable: Ph.D.; proficiency in Soft Computing, GIS, MS Project, Data Analytics; experience in capacity building and training activities.
  • Key Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, solution-oriented mindset, networking capabilities, excellent verbal and written communication in English, proficiency in regional languages, basic data analysis and reporting, GIS proficiency, presentation tools, statistical analysis tools, and graphic/visual communication tools.
  • Age Relaxation: Maximum 40 years as on closing date. No specific age relaxation percentages are printed; the notice states due consideration will be given to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates. Only Government or Government-recognized institution certificates are accepted.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Online Application & Fee Payment: Candidates must complete the online application at recruit.nitc.ac.in, pay the application fee, and email a copy of the submitted form with supporting documents to the designated email within five days of the closing date.
  • Shortlisting: The selection committee may decide upon any kind of skill test and/or trade test based on the volume of applications. Mere fulfilment of required qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to selection.
  • Interview: Selected candidates will be informed by email/mobile and are expected to join immediately. The exact interview date and venue will be announced separately.
  • Document Verification: Candidates must produce original certificates along with a Government-issued photo ID during the selection process. Candidates without originals or requisite experience will be disqualified.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the selection process. However, TA/DA for outstation visits during employment will be as per Pay Level 07 entitlements.
  • Institute's Right: The Institute reserves the right to cancel the advertisement without assigning any reason or without selecting anybody. The decision of the selection committee is final.
