Department-wise Vacancy (Total: 149)
- Each department has 1 Professor. Associate Professor and Assistant Professor counts:
- Totals: 18 Professor + 46 Associate Professor + 85 Assistant Professor = 149. Campuses: Tura and Shillong. The University may change vacancy, reservation or place of posting under UGC guidelines and orders of the competent authority.
Eligibility
- Professor: Eminent scholar with PhD in the subject, at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, research score 120 (UGC Regulations 2018, Appendix II Table 2), and 10 years of teaching/research at Assistant Professor level or above. An outstanding professional with a PhD and significant contribution may also be considered.
- Associate Professor: PhD, Master's with at least 55%, 8 years of teaching/research equivalent to Assistant Professor, at least 7 publications, research score 75.
- Assistant Professor: Master's with at least 55% (relaxation to 50% for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer) and NET/CSIR-NET or SET-NE in the subject. PhD awarded under UGC Regulations 2009/2016 (and amendments) exempts NET/SLET/SET.
- Reservation follows the Government of Meghalaya policy. Qualification must be held on or before the last date; the result-declaration date is the date the qualification is acquired.

- City classes (HRA): X = Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Greater Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune. Y and Z cities are as listed by the Department of Expenditure (OM 21.07.2015). HRA is not paid if you live in government quarters.

Selection Method
- There is no written exam. Stage 1 is shortlisting (academic score for Assistant Professor as per UGC Appendix II Table 3A; eligibility, API and publications for Associate Professor and Professor). Stage 2 is a personal interview. Final selection is on interview performance only.
- Interview call ratio: 1:3 for Assistant Professor and 1:5 for Associate Professor and Professor. Original documents are required before a candidate is treated as qualified to be called.
