Eligibility Criteria: Qualification & Experience

  • Applications are invited via Deputation (including Short Term Contract). Candidates must meet the following strict criteria regarding service history and educational qualifications.

3. Educational Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidates must possess the following qualifications from a recognized University:
  • Option A: Master’s Degree in Indian History with Ancient/Medieval History OR Master’s Degree in Archaeology/Anthropology OR Master’s Degree in Geology (with Prehistoric Archaeology). OR
  • Option B: Master’s Degree in Sanskrit, Pali, Arabic, Prakrit, Persian, Kannada, History, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam of Art with Ancient/Medieval Indian History.
  • Ph.D Requirement: Must have a Ph.D. in Indian History, Archaeology, or any language mentioned above.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience in the field of Archaeology under Government or Semi-Government/Autonomous institutions. (Note: Experience in Administrative/Financial matters is not counted).

Age Limit:

  • The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Salary & Pay Scale Details

  • This is a high-level technical post in the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) structure.
  • Pay Matrix Level: Level 14
  • Pay Scale: Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200 (Fixed)
  • Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other government benefits as admissible.
