IBPS PO 2025 Prelims Result selection procedure:

  • Prelims Exam
  • Mode: Online (Computer Based Test)
  • Length: 60 minutes
  • Sections: Reasoning Ability, English Language, and Quantitative Aptitude • There are 100 total questions and 100 total marks. • Qualifying Nature: The preliminary exam is qualifying in nature.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each incorrect response. Final merit is not determined by marks. Candidates are shortlisted for Mains if they pass the sectional and overall cutoffs.
  • Mains Exam:
  • 3 hours + 30 minutes (for the descriptive paper); Mode: Online; Duration: • Sections: Computer proficiency and reasoning, data analysis and interpretation, general economic and banking knowledge, and English language • Descriptive Test: Writing English Letters and Essays • The sum of the objective and descriptive marks is 225. • Significance: Along with the interview, marks earned in the mains are taken into account for the final merit.
  • Interview: Performed by:
  • IBPS and Participating Banks; Score: 100 • Minimum qualifying score: 40% (or 35% for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD) • Final Merit Weighting: Interview (20%) + Mains (80%) • Communication abilities, banking knowledge, and fit for the PO position are evaluated during the interview.
