Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• The post of Assistant Commissioner (Shipping) is to be filled on deputation basis (including short-term contract) or promotion. Eligible candidates must meet all of the following conditions:

Essential Educational Qualification & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute.
• Experience: Five years' experience, comprising—Minimum three years' experience in shipping or chartering of ships or port operations; ANDTwo years' administrative work experience.

Desirable Qualification

• Associateship, Fellowship, or Diploma in Shipping from the Narottam Das Morarji Institute of Shipping, Mumbai, or any institute recognised by the Ministry of Education / Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

Selection Process & Screening

• Screening of Applications: All applications forwarded through proper channel will be screened against the prescribed eligibility criteria (analogous post / Level-10 experience, essential qualifications, and experience).
• ACR/APAR Assessment: Up-to-date ACR/APAR dossiers for the last five years will be reviewed by the selection authority.
• Vigilance / Integrity Clearance: The vigilance status and integrity record of the candidate will be verified from the parent department.
• Approval by Competent Authority: On deputation, the appointment is subject to approval by the Competent Authority in the Department of Fertilizers.
• No written test or interview is separately scheduled for deputation cases; selection is based on merit, suitability, and administrative assessment.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending any stage of the selection process.
