Eligibility Criteria for Meghalaya BWHG Enrollment 2026

  • Only Indian citizens domiciled in Meghalaya currently deployed with Requisitioning Agencies are eligible.
  • Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Domicile: Must be domiciled in the state of Meghalaya.
  • Deployment History: Must be a Home Guards Volunteer deployed/engaged with Requisitioning Agencies for a total period of 3 years (1095 days).
  • Age Limit: Upper age limit is 50 years as on 15 April 2026.

Pay Scale & Nature of Duty

  • The engagement is purely temporary and voluntary. No claim for regularisation is permitted.
  • Honoraria: Paid under 'Wages', Highly Skilled Category + Risk Allowance (Govt. of Meghalaya rates).
  • Deployment: Remote border areas of Khasi, Jaintia & Garo Hills bordering Bangladesh.
  • Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance).
  • Termination: Volunteers can be dismissed at any time without reason.

Selection Process

  • Personal Interview: Conducted at Tura and Shillong centres.
